Akubra is the low level blob storage used by the fedora repository. Using akubra-hdfs it should be possible to use the fedora repository on top of HDFS.

akubra-hdfs is developed with eSciDoc in mind and is licensed under the Apache License 2.0 by FIZ Karlsruhe.

akubra-hdfs is still in development and by no means ready for production use.
